Thanksgiving might seem far into the future, but it’s not too early to give thanks to our U.S. servicemembers stationed overseas. The library is supporting the Big Thank You effort to ensure that every soldier stationed overseas receives a handwritten letter on Thanksgiving Day. Even though he is of Canadian descent, Bruce the Library Goose is coordinating the efforts by providing paper, writing utensils, and a collection box for your letters. All you have to bring are your heartfelt thoughts and sincere thanks to the men and women spending their holidays away from home while serving their country. We’ll take care of the rest. As an added bonus, for every letter you write, we’ll give you some Halloween candy! Just show your letter to a library staff member, and we’ll reward you with a sweet treat.
Be sure to drop off your letters by October 31st so Bruce can fly them over to Atlanta by the deadline.
